The Small Business Authority Finds Washington’s Uncertainty Has Had Greatest Negative Impact on Economy
NEW YORK, April 1, 2013 /PRNewswire/ – Newtek Business Services, NASDAQ: NEWT, The Small Business Authority®, with a portfolio of over 100,000 business accounts, announced today the findings of its SB Authority Market Sentiment Survey, a monthly window into the concerns of independent business owners. Based on a poll of over 1,800 respondents, one of the key findings from the March survey is 60% of business owners believe uncertainty in Washington has had the greatest negative effect on the economy. Of the remaining, 22% believe income tax increases have had the greatest negative effect on the economy and 18% believe payroll tax increase had the greatest negative effect on the economy.

Small Business Authority’s Market Sentiment Survey Results
NEW YORK, Feb. 7, 2013 /PRNewswire/ – Newtek Business Services, NASDAQ: NEWT, The Small Business Authority®, with a portfolio of over 100,000 business accounts, announced today the findings of its SB Authority Market Sentiment Survey, a monthly window into the concerns of independent business owners. Based on a poll of over 1,200 respondents, one of the key findings from the January survey is 65% of business owners have not yet decided upon a course of action to manage their healthcare costs over the next 12 months. Of the remaining, 13% plan to rebid their policy, 8% plan to reduce benefits to employees and 14% plan to ask employees to pay a greater share.

June 2012 SB Authority’s Market Sentiment Survey Results
NEW YORK, July 2, 2012 /PRNewswire/ – Newtek Business Services, NASDAQ: NEWT, The Small Business Authority, with a portfolio of over 100,000 business accounts, announced today the findings of its SB Authority Market Sentiment Survey, a monthly window into the concerns of independent business owners. Based on a poll of over 600 respondents, one of the key findings from the June survey is 39% of business owners did not want the Patient Protection Affordable Healthcare Act (PPAHCA) to be ruled constitutional at all and 37% of business owners did not want the Act to be ruled constitutional in part. Only 25% of business owners surveyed wanted the PPAHCA to be enacted. After the Supreme Court ruled that Congress had the right to legislate the PPAHCA, 35% of business owners now want the Act to be repealed and 38% want the Act to be modified.

November 2011 SB Authority’s Market Sentiment Survey Results
NEW YORK – November 29, 2011 – Newtek Business Services, NASDAQ: NEWT, The Small Business Authority, with a portfolio of over 100,000 business accounts, announced today the findings of its SB Authority Market Sentiment Survey, a monthly window into the concerns of independent business owners. Based on a poll of over 1,000 respondents, one of the key findings from the November survey is 88 percent of business owners do not think it is right for the Federal Government to force a state resident to buy health insurance. In addition, only 9 percent believe they will have to purchase health insurance from the government while 53 percent believe the cost of healthcare is going to increase in the next two years.
